Designs by Jessalyn was born out of my desire to create outside of my full time job as an apparel designer. I started with one pair of shark tooth earrings in November of 2019 and continue to evolve into new materials, methods, and concepts everyday.
As Designs by Jessalyn continues to grow, my own passion and journey to protect marine life and make more sustainable and ethical choices has grown as well. I hope my passions come through in my jewelry, thoughtful packaging, and conservation collections that raise money for marine life non-profits.
I handle the entire product development process from designing to photography to shipping to marketing, and I really hope you enjoy each piece made special for you.
About the Product Development Process
It is very important to this brand to be transparent and open about every step of the process. I start with sketching various ideas and start sourcing from there. It is important to me to source materials responsibly and with a focus on local and small shops and vendors. I begin at the local level and if I'm not finding what I need to create my products, I seek out shops on Etsy that offer carbon offset shipping and select one shop to get all materials from to reduce the amount of packaging. All packaging materials I gather in my sourcing process are repurposed and reused for storage of materials.
After all materials have been sourced, I begin handcrafting every piece in my home office. Each item is created and tested for quality, so you can feel confident that you're getting a one-of-a-kind product that will last. Each order is shipped in a kraft paper box with a cotton filling, earring cards made with 30% recycled materials, and mailers that are made of corn and breakdown in compost within 180 days. The mailers are from a company called, EcoPackables, they plant a tree for every mailer in the order. As a business, it is important to me to make good choices for the environment and avoid contributing to single-use waste as much as possible. This is something Designs by Jessalyn remains committed to. My hands are on each step of the process from design ideation to shipping your order to you, and I hope you enjoy your jewelry as much as I enjoy making it.

This website is owned and operated by Designs by Jessalyn, LLC. These Terms set forth the terms and conditions under which you may use our website and services as offered by us. This website offers visitors original, handmade jewelry and accessories. By accessing or using the website of our service, you approve that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. In order to use our website and/or receive our services, you must be at least 18 years of age, or of the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, and possess the legal authority, right and freedom to enter into these Terms as a binding agreement. You are not allowed to use this website and/or receive services if doing so is prohibited in your country or under any law or regulation applicable to you. When buying an item, you agree that: (i) you are responsible for reading the full item listing before making a commitment to buy it: (ii) you enter into a legally binding contract to purchase an item when you commit to buy an item and you complete the check-out payment process. (iii) you acknowledge that all sales are final and returns or refund requests will not be accepted.
You agree to receive from time to time promotional messages and materials from us, by mail, email or any other contact form you may provide us with (including your phone number for calls or text messages). If you don't want to receive such promotional materials or notices – please just notify us at any time.
All sales are final, but please contact us if there are any concerns about your order. Due to the nature of our products, all products are final sale and ineligible for returns or exchanges. If damage or theft occurs during transit, the buyer is responsible for filing an insurance claim through the proper mailing provider.
Shipping & Fulfillment Policy
**Temporary Shipping Policy** All orders placed after August 31st, 2022 will not be processed and shipped until September 12th, 2022. There will be a shipping hiatus from September 3rd-11th, 2022, orders can still be placed during this time frame but will not be processed until September 12th, 2022.** All orders are processed within 2 to 5 business days (excluding weekends, holidays, or otherwise disclosed dates) after receiving your order confirmation email and payment confirmation. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. We offer flat rates of $4.99 standard USPS First Class Mail and $8.99 USPS Priority Mail shipping to the United States. All orders with subtotals $50 and over receive free standard USPS First Class Mail shipping. Dunn County residence can select Dunn County shipping for a standard rate of $2 for a contactless delivery. We are unable to fulfill orders outside of the United States at this time. If you haven’t received your order within 7-10 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at email@example.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you. If damage or theft occurs during transit, the buyer is responsible for filing an insurance claim through the proper mailing provider.
